The truth of individual rights versus the falsehood of collective or group rights.
Collectivism is the scourge of human history. It is the root of all totalitarian governments. Group rights do not exist, rights do not come from the power of numbers. Basing a system on sacrificing the rights of the individual for the "greater good" eventually leads to any act being justified. Modern totalitarians always claim that they are looking out for the greater good.
This video also discusses the difference between a republic and a democracy. The United States was founded as a republic, NOT a democracy. It uses my favorite definition of pure democracy, a lynch mob. Yes a lynch mob is a democracy, the majority decides to lynch the minority. That is why a democracy is a BAD thing. Democracies do not protect minority rights and the ultimate minority is the individual.

Amen to individual rights. Life, Liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness. Govt's are instituted deriving their 'just' powers from the CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED.

It is an uphill battle. The group idea is drilled into people at school and work.
